Home Sweet Home

We got home Thursday afternoon and brought little Charlie home for the first time. We've been doing well with adjusting to having a newborn baby in the house now - it is quite a change and our house is officially been "babified". Swing in the living room, breast pump parts in the kitchen, spit towels strewn in every nook and cranny, bags under mom and dad's eyes...the list goes on.

Katie promises to write soon - she is still getting her strength back and has a lot to say. So stay tuned!

For now, you can go here for more pictures of Charlie's homecoming.

I loved reading the blog. Charlie will cherish it when he gets old enough to understand and read it...which could be any day now as he appears to be so smart already! I cannot wait to come back and be with you guys Sunday night. I have loved sharing this time with you, and hope and pray that I haven't gotten in the way! I have learned so much, such as: Nipple confusion! Maybe that is what is wrong with men in general..that ole nipple confusion..! Who knows? All I know is that I love Charlie so much, and each day will be an adventure! So happy for the two of you. Love always, Lolly

I don't know who you guys are, but I just happened across your blog and your wife is cute.

Enjoy every minute of this. I remember bringing our son home for the first time and we just sort of stared at him. Make sure that if you do that to snap out of it and feed him. We went like six hours before we came out of the daze. Looks like you guys have a keeper.
Love you guys,

Jason C.

Katie
I have enjoyed reading your blog and must say that I have become attached to reading it daily. Charlie is adorable and is truly a Godsend. I couldn't help but remember bringing home my first son and going through exactly what you are going through with the exception is I didn't breast feed. But the emotions, oh wow! I was a germaholic as well. I boiled his nipples for his bottle so long that they all gummed together and we had to go out and buy new ones. At least you won't have to worry about that. I worried what he would be when he grew up, would he have to go to the army. Would he meet a good wife, etc. Finally after about two weeks of this, my Dad who is now a retired minister sat me down and said, "you have to take each day, one at a time and put your faith and trust in God that he will take care of you all". And you know what? He was right. It will get better I promise. Praying for you and your family. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings and the cute pictures of Charlie.

Love ya
Debbie Davis (your W/W friend)

I am so sorry you had to go through all of that but the most important thing is y'all have your sweet little boy at home now and you're a family!! :) I really want to bring Will and Claire to TN and come visit y'all sometime.
