Charlie's First Days...

Charlie at 2.5 days old...

Our Charlie is half way through his third day of life and is making so much progress. He was having a little trouble with the nursing early on, but today is making leaps and bounds. He has lost a little weight (which is normal for newborns). He is now down to a chunky 9 lbs. 2 ozs. After a talk with my mom the other night, she informed me that when I was born, I weighed in at 9 lbs, 12.5 ozs...which is just 4 one-hundredths less than Charlie (9 lbs. 12.9 ozs)! Go figure.

Our pediatrician has checked on Charlie each morning and keeps coming back with excellent reports. He had his circumcision yesterday and did great we were told. He also had his hearing test today and passed with flying colors.

Katie is making great progress as well. She is getting out of bed on her own now - it's still slow going, but she is getting her strength back as well as her appetite. She got a nice long hot shower in last night which allowed her to get a good nights sleep in between our middle of the night feedings for Charlie.

We promise to have more pictures to come soon, but for now here are a few of Charlie's favorite people (besides mom and dad!)

Loli and Pop (AKA Grandpa and Grandma Dorough):

And Uncle Jimmer and Aunt Laurie:

CONGRATULATIONS! He is adorable.
Katie you look wonderful. I know Loli and Pop are estactic.
Enjoy every moment - they do grow up way too fast.
Take care of yourself.

Speaking from such recent experience as my almost 3 month old will let me...Time really does move quickly. I know there is so much work ahead of you but try to pull every moment of joy from every minute because Charlie will be so different in just three short months! Congrats to you both! Kaila can't wait to meet her second cousin.

Get some sleep, Kendra, Doug & Kaila
